More athlete gambling arrests; Stafford gets to 400; Seahawks are a wagon; Giannis still GOAT'd
All time pathetic stuff out of Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz getting nailed for rigging their own pitches. Yes, because surely that is worth setting flame to the legal millions they're making. In the NFL, the Seahawks are dog walking everyone, Stafford just hit 400 TDs, and Jonathan Taylor’s MVP case is getting loud. Giants and Jaguars both crash and burn. Meanwhile, college football’s got JMU making playoff noise and what's this? UConn football is relevant? In the NBA, Giannis keeps stacking MVP stats while Cade Cunningham and Kon Knueppel are rising fast.
15 WEEKEND HEADLINES. 15 BOTTOM LINE THOUGHTS. 15 WORDS OR LESS.
Top Story

1) No sympathy for athletes when they get busted after screwing over their teammates and fans.

NFL
Seahawks continue to steamroll everything in their way, this time routing the Cardinals 44-22. Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s otherworldly seasons carries on as he becomes the first WR to 1,000 yards on the year. Demarcus Lawrence scores two fumble recovery touchdowns in the effort.
2) The Seahawks look like every bit of the most dominant NFC team. Absolute wagon.
Matthew Stafford becomes the ninth player to reach 400 career passing touchdowns and doing so finally brings his career record to .500. He becomes the first player in NFL history with 4+ pass TD and 0 INT in 3 straight games and now has 20 TD and 0 INT over last six games.
3) Please find me anyone still saying he’s not first ballot HoF. I’d like a word.
Caleb Williams looks maybe the best he ever has and the Giants blow their third game where they had over a 92% chance to win late in the 4th. The Bears have now surpassed their win total from last season and move into second place in a heated NFC North.
4) If that was your first time ever watching Williams, you’d assume he’s a top QB.
Caleb has two throws exactly like this on the day, both not hauled in by the WR in the endzone. This is a special throw.
The Texans outscore the Jaguars 28-0 in the fourth quarter to defeat Jacksonville 36-29. Better yet, they did it with CJ Stroud sidelined.
5) You can just tell Cohen and Gladstone want to replace Lawrence with their own QB.
Warning, this video contains terrible Quarterbacking
Jonathan Taylor’s MVP season is now just becoming one of the all-time greatest seasons by any offensive player after 244 yard, three touchdown game against the Falcons in Berlin. Taylor joins JSN in the 1,000 yard club, becoming the first running back to 1,000 yards.
6) It’s reaching, “if Taylor doesn’t get MVP, then QBs simply need a seperate award,” levels.
He legitimately could threaten LaDainian Tomlinson’s single season TD record with these type of runs EVERY GAME!!!
The Patriots are winners of seven straight after defeating the Buccaneers 28-23 in the battle of the “May”VPs. TreVeyon Henderson has his breakout game wracking up 147 rushing yards and two scores.
7) Maye has taken down two MVP candidate QBs on the road. Pats window is open.
Josh Allen has sloppy outing as Bills have all time “flush it” game against the Dolphins, losing 31-17. Devon Achane got whatever he wanted, as the Dolphins RB goes for 224 and two scores to bring his career totals to 32 touchdowns in 38 games.
8) Achane’s bag is going to be heavy! Talking order a forklift. Bills offense is wavering.
Keenan Allen becomes the Chargers all-time leader in receptions with number 956 in the Chargers 25-10 win over the Steelers. Chargers defense holds Rodgers to one of his worst career performances, finishing 16/31, with 161 yards, 1 TDs, 2 INTs and a 4.6 QBR.
9) The Chargers are primed for a strong finish with a favorable schedule and Herbert balling.
NCAA
After only four years removed from transitioning from FCS to FBS, James Madison is 8-1, only four wins away from a College Football Playoff birth, and move to #24 in the AP Standings. This marks their third season, out of four seasons in the FBS, cracking the top 25.
10) JMU walked into the FBS like they’ve been here all along. Great program development.
Texas Tech’s defense continues to be flat out nasty in 29-7 win over undefeated #7 BYU. Linebacker Jacob Rodriguez garnering Heisman cries from college football fans, leading a defense with three of the top four highest graded defensive players in the nation.
11) Watching Tech’s front seven is like watching the best Bama/Georgia front sevens. They’re that dominant.
UConn’s quarterback Joe Fagnano finally has his insane season come on the radar after 37-34 win over Duke to move to 7-3. After three more touchdowns, Fagnano now owns 25 TDs and 0 INTs. 38,000 in attendance was most for UConn football since 2013.
12) Cry “bad schedule” but the Huskies are balling. Tons of energy + momentum around the program.

NBA
Giannis is off to another MVP campaign, as he becomes the fastest player ever to reach 300+ points, 100+ rebounds, and 50+ assists in a season. Moves ahead of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most 40+ point games in Bucks history.
13) Surely the national media pundits won’t dismiss it and leave him off MVP talks…
The league is in good hands with Pistons’ Cade Cunningham, who continues to ascend into superstardom after leading Detroit to six straight wins to sit atop the Eastern Conference.
14) Drafted to a terrible Pistons, seen rock bottom, never complained, now has them on top.
Hornets’ Kon Knueppel making an early statement and takes the lead on Rookie of the Year talks after becoming the fastest player EVER to reach 30 career three-pointers made and the only rookie this season with three straight 20-point games.
15) Leading all rookies in scoring and a better true shooting % than Flagg. Cat can ball.
