That's video game nonsense.Bryce Young suddenly looks like the guy Carolina drafted first overall, Purdy’s return helps the Niners who are actively held together with duct tape, and Josh Allen reminded everyone he’s still not of human decent. To college football. Bama lost! So there's something we can all be happy about. In the NBA, Luka and Shai are putting up video-game numbers and OKC seems to only be getting better. 15 WEEKEND HEADLINES. 15 BOTTOM LINE THOUGHTS. 15 WORDS OR LESS.
Top Story
Rams pick off Sam Darnold four times in pivotal 21-19 divisional win over the Seattle Seahawks to take over the tightly contested NFC West. Rams Punter Ethan Evans with the punt of the year to pin Seattle 99 yards away to start a game winning drive.
1) Rams might win the ‘ship and are teed up for the eighth overall pick. Ridiculous.
NFL
Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has a career game in 30-27 win against an elite Falcons defense. Young tosses three touchdowns, sets Panthers single game passing yards record with 448 yards, and the Panthers move to 6-5.
2) Somehow, Carolina can realistically win the NFC South. Is this an episode of Punk’d?
Brock Purdy returns from injury and drops in three touchdowns as the 49ers keep winning despite insurmountable injuries. Niners take down the Cardinals 41-22 despite Jacoby Brissett completing the most passes in single game history (47) and Cardinals’ WR MIchael Wilson posting the most single game receiving yards this season (185).
3) Playoff hopes require Purdy’s game-to-game consistency, coaching remaining great, and no more injuries. Uphill battle.

Josh Allen scores six touchdowns in 44-32 win over fellow MVP contender Baker Mayfield’s Buccaneers. Bucs slide to 1-3 in their last four while Allen’s three passing touchdowns + three rushing touchdowns push the Bills to 3-1 in theirs.
4) Allen’s season hasn’t been the prettiest but this game reminded everyone he’s still an alien.
Aaron Rodgers breaks wrist in Steelers’ 34-12 win over the Bengals; Mason Rudolph comes in to go off for 189 yards and two TDs. Cincinnati has now allowed 27+ points in nine straight games, setting a not so coveted NFL record.
5) Steelers defense scored two touchdowns, only gave up one. Damn good day in the office.
Los Angeles Chargers get surprisingly blown out by the Jacksonville Jaguars 35-6. Justin Herbert gets pulled from game and fails to eclipse 100 passing yards for the first time since 2023 as Jags put a halt to the Bolts’ three game win streak.
6) This Chargers offensive line will ensure Herbert gets killed and they lose any playoff game.
Browns fans calling for Stefanski’s job after throwing Shedeur Sanders into the game despite not having had a single rep with the starters since being drafted. Sanders gets picked off on his second drive and the Browns offense had zero chemistry or apparent clue they were playing a live NFL game in 23-16 loss to the Ravens. Myles Garrett becomes first ever with 12 sacks in six straight seasons.
7) Defense wins games unless you have the Browns offense that can’t even deliver D+ football.
Despite losing Josh Jacobs, Packers break two game skid by defeating Jameis and the Giants 27-20. Giants go 3/4 on 4th down and rush for three scores but Christian Watson’s two scores on passes from both Malik Willis and Jordan Love propelled Green Bay. Packers defense ultimately comes up clutch in the final drives after rough showing otherwise.
8) Green Bay reverted to 2024 levels of drops but the Watson/Love connection is increasingly electric.
NCAA
Riding high on an eight game win streak, Alabama falls to Oklahoma 23-21 despite more struggles from OU quarterback John Mateer. Bama is now 0-2 in the past two season against Oklahoma.
9) You know what they say.. Everytime Bama loses, an angel gets its wings.
#2 Indiana puts belt to ass on Wisconsin in 31-7 win to move to 11-0 for the first time in program history in second season under Curt Cignetti.
10) Cignetti is as good as it gets in college football. Program builder and constant winner.
#3 Texas A&M comes back from down 30-3 at halftime to defeat South Carolina 31-30. Marcel Reed rebounds from two interceptions in the first half to finish with three scores to bring A&M all the way back.
11) Reed both ended his Heisman campaign and advanced it in the same game. Decent.
Despite being seen as a weaker P4 conference in college football, ACC conference play continues to be absolute dog fights. Clemson takes down #20 Louisville for the latest conference upset.
12) ACC champ will probably get bounced quick but ACC conference games have been battles.

NBA
Luka Doncic becomes the fastest player this century to reach 50 career 40-point games. He also ties himself for fastest player ever to reach 300 PTS, 75 REB, & 75 AST in a season.
13) Luka’s offensive wizardry is effortless like Bob Ross on a blank canvas.
Thunder start 13-1 behind onslaught of Shai 30-point games. Despite being able to rest most 4th quarters due to leads, MVP guard is still averaging 32+ per game.
14) OKC only ever makes me think of the Sonics. When are they coming back dammit!

MLB
Seattle Mariners make early offseason splash by locking up first baseman Josh Naylor on a five year contract. Beloved by fans, Naylor hit .299 since joining the Mariners and was a top bat up to and throughout playoffs.
15) Mariners front office already outdid themselves from most offseasons. Naylor’s a no-brainer. Great start!
