Arch goes nuclear; Eagles collapse; Bears surge; JSN making history; Jeremiyah Love is him; Harden & Luka make history
Arch Manning puts b2a on the Razorbacks in six TD explosion with touchdowns passing, rushing, and climbing the ladder for receiving sixer. The NFL slate served up a hell of a weekend that was capped off with Chip Kelly getting sent packing after running an offense that looked allergic to scoring. Meanwhile, the Eagles melted down in Dallas, Baltimore keeps winning ugly, Chicago keeps winning close, JSN is busy setting records in Seattle, and Emmanuel Forbes is a top NFL cornerback after being cut last December. College football didn’t blink either. Jeremiyah Love is skyrocketing into “don’t overthink it” draft territory, Pitt stayed alive in the ACC race with a monster upset, and Wisconsin’s defense continues to be elite in a season that’s anything but.And in the NBA, Chris Paul is calling it quits after a generational career, Harden just tied Kobe in 50-point games, and Luka’s putting up historic numbers to carry the Lakers to their best start in years.
15 WEEKEND HEADLINES. 15 BOTTOM LINE THOUGHTS. 15 WORDS OR LESS.
Top Story
Arch Manning goes nuclear with six TDs and becomes first Texas QB ever with a rushing, passing, and receiving touchdown (he climbed the ladder too) in a game to take out Arkansas 52-37.
1) Hand up if you ruled out Arch early. Hey, that’s our bad. He keeps balling!

NFL
Chip Kelly is out as Raiders offensive coordinator despite a deal that made him the highest paid OC in football. He lasted 11 games and his offense ranks 31st in the NFL.
2) Raiders’ offense looks like it actively seeks to avoid points. Carroll + Geno was always desperate.
The Los Angeles Rams remain impossibly good as they maintain a hold of the NFC after spanking the Buccaneers 34-7 in primetime to mark back-to-back wins against top NFC opponents.
3) The Rams are a weakness-less juggernaut. Pick another Super Bowl favorite at your own risk.
The Eagles blow a 21-0 lead to fall on a game winning field goal to the Cowboys. An onslaught of penalties (14), 500 yards of offense allowed, and 4th quarter turnovers (2) cost the Eagles their top seed in the NFC. Jalen Hurts claims record for most rushing touchdowns in Eagles history (playoffs included) while Dak becomes Dallas’ all-time leading passer and most franchise Q4/OT comebacks.
4) Once again the Eagles offense cannot be trusted. Apparently their defense can’t be either.
The Ravens notch their fifth straight win and tie the Steelers atop the AFC North after an ugly 23-10 victory over the Jets. Derrick Henry scores the only Ravens touchdowns (2) as the pass game once again struggles.
5) The Ravens keep winning but this is still far from a playoff caliber football team.

As ugly as it might be, the “cardiac Bears” just keep winning and move to 8-3 with sole possession of first place in the NFC North. They’ve now won eight of their last nine and Caleb Williams surpasses 1,000 scrimmage yards with an 8-0 TD/INT line during Bears’ four game win streak.
6) The 2025 Bears are doing what past Bears teams couldn’t even dream: win close games.

Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba is pacing to have an historic season and only needed 11 games to set the Seahawks new top mark for receiving yards in a season (1,309). He’s on pace to set the NFL single season receiving record (1,964).
7) JSN was always the MVP candidate over Sam Darnold... Already talking phenom status with him.

Less than a year after being cut by the Commanders, Rams cornerback and 2023 first round draft pick Emmanuel Forbes has become a star at the position after another strong outing against the Buccaneers.
8) Forbes is the perfect example of why teams buy low on “failed” first round picks.
Three games go to OT (KC vs IND, NYG vs DET, JAX vs ARI) as the Lions narrowly escape the Jameis Giants and the Chiefs fend off the Colts’ attempt at the throne despite no TDs from Mahomes.
9) Daniel Jones is starting to shrivel and how do the Giants KEEP BLOWING EVERY LEAD!!
NCAA
Jeremiyah Love’s draft status continues to rise as he continues his Heisman campaign with 171 yards and 3 TDs on only EIGHT carries in 70-7 win over Syracuse.
10) Wherever you have Love in your mock drafts, it isn’t high enough. Don’t overthink it.
Pitt goes on the road and stuns #16 Georgia Tech after establishing a 28-0 first half lead. Pitt runs to 8-3 and remains in the ACC title hunt as they snap GT’s nine game win streak and boot them from the ACC Championship race.
11) Could say GT was always fraudulent and too QB dependant. ACC is scrappy!
Wisconsin Badgers upset #21 Illinois to get their first back-to-back home wins over ranked opponents since 2017. Badgers’ immovable object of a defense continues to be lone bright spot to help team finish strong after lost season.
12) The only shame in it all is that a championship caliber defense went entirely wasted.

NBA
Future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul announces his retirement at the end of the season. His legacy carries 12 All-Star appearances, 11 All-NBA selections, nine time All-Defense, a spot on the top 75 players of all time, and Rookie of the Year honors. However, he will end his career ringless despite runs with nine different teams to win a championship.
13) Highlights from CP3’s prime are pure. To use one word to describe it: Silky.

James Harden bags 55 points, including 27 in the first quarter, to set Clippers single game scoring record. The performance marks his 25th career 50+ point game to tie Kobe for 3rd in NBA history.
14) Sincerely respect Harden’s game but don’t put him above Wade (in SG ranks) without a ring.
The Lakers have their best start to a season since 2020-21 behind Luka Doncic becoming the fastest player in NBA history to reach 400+ PTS & 100+ AST in a season. Doncic becomes first to ever achieve those numbers through 12 games. LA moves into 2nd in the West, riding a four game win streak, and have won 10 of their last 12.
15) LeBron trading for Luka is looking more likely that it’ll get him that last ring.
*What Luka does to Kevin Love (below) is absolutely ruthless. Stole old man’s dignity!
